A Season of Change…

It’s barely mid-November as I write this, but it feels like late Summer with 75 degree temps.  Beautiful, yet strange.  The leaves have fallen, the election is over (fingers crossed), and change is in the air.

Autumn has always been my favorite time of year.  A crispness in the air welcoming us to get cozy and reflect on what has already happened and look forward to what’s to come.  Getting ready to spend holidays with friends and family.  This year it seems that this call for reflection is unavoidable.

Plans to travel, to see family and friends, to celebrate traditions are up-ended, but yet we remain grateful for all the things this crazy world offers.  We take stock of what we truly hold dear and value. Nurture our relationships.  Find new ways to connect.

I doubt any of us thought in Nov 2019 we’d be where we are in Nov  2020. And while there is renewed hope for 2021, there is still uncertainty.

2020 has taken so much from so many, but I’m so grateful that it has reminded me how important my family, friends and community are to me and how much they support me.

It is with them in mind that I decided to launch MEG D YOGA.  This is my opportunity to  share something I love and help others.  My yoga practice has given me a place to get calm and centered amid the chaos.  It has helped me to keep my body moving every single day.

Yoga benefits the WHOLE of our beings if we want/allow it.  My goal for MEG D YOGA is to provide a safe place for people to escape the chaos, engage their mind and body, and find community even if we can’t be in the same room.

As an introvert and fiercely independent soul, I didn’t truly come to appreciate the power behind community until I started training with Angela Garcia of AG Fitness several years ago.  Her business thrives and people keep going not just because of the top notch instructors and classes, but because of the community it cultivates! This community lifts people up when they need it and celebrates their wins.  When COVID hit Angela and her team pivoted on a dime to move our community online.  We all miss being in the same room I know, but the community connection is still there! It has been a constant amidst so much uncertainty and anxiety and helps so many people get through this year.

This is why I know how important community is and why I want to pay it forward and follow in my dear friend’s footsteps and offer not only a place for physical wellness, but a place where clients feel supported and valued.

A year ago, I certainly never imagined that I’d be launching a yoga business in the midst of a pandemic, but here I am! Truly a season for change..

I’ll be back regularly with blog posts for you so stay tuned!

Before I go, I would also like to acknowledge a couple more people I would not be here without:

Angela Desrosiers of AG Fitness and The Align Experience...I’m proud to be one of your students and grateful for your support and guidance in my teaching endeavors.

Steph Mitchell of The Yoga & Ayurveda Center where I trained for my 200hr certification...I am thankful to have found your program and to become a member of a worldwide community of devoted and supportive yogis.

I go forward with gratitude for all of you and hope that I will honor your teachings in my own.
